19 Oct, 2026Bringing Boatbuilding Technology into Education — A Learning Visit to Shing Sheng Fa BoatbuildingOn October 16, 2026, Shing Sheng Fa Boatbuilding welcomed a group of 26 teachers and students from Cijin Junior High School in Kaohsiung City as part of the school's extracurricular field trip program for the first semester of the 2026 academic year. The visit provided students with an opportunity to explore the boatbuilding industry firsthand and gain a better understanding of the entire process, from vessel design to construction. The presentation was personally conducted by the company's Chairman, Mr. Huang, who shared the company's history, development, and extensive boatbuilding experience. Through this visit, we hoped to provide students with a clearer and more practical understanding of boatbuilding and the maritime industry. For Shing Sheng Fa Boatbuilding, a boatyard is not merely a place where vessels are constructed; it is also an environment where technical expertise is developed, practical experience is accumulated, and professional knowledge is passed down. The construction of a vessel involves design and planning, material selection and application, structural fabrication, equipment installation, and quality management. More importantly, it requires close cooperation among professionals from different technical disciplines. Through this visit, we hoped to help students appreciate the specialized teamwork behind every vessel and understand the responsibility for safety involved in each stage of construction. The educational session began with an introduction to the company's history and development, followed by an overview of boatbuilding technologies using different materials, including fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), steel, and aluminum alloys. The presentation also covered hull design and vessel construction processes. By introducing these subjects in an accessible and practical manner, we aimed to transform unfamiliar industrial knowledge into concepts that students could easily understand. We wanted them to recognize that successful boatbuilding requires careful consideration of a vessel's intended purpose and operational requirements, together with the integration of material properties, structural strength, and appropriate construction methods to create a vessel suited to its specific mission. Chairman Huang's personal involvement in conducting the presentation also demonstrated the company's strong commitment to educational engagement and the transfer of technical knowledge. The boatbuilding experience accumulated over many years is not only applied to the construction of every vessel but is also valuable knowledge worth sharing with younger generations. We hope that this experience will help students recognize the importance of technical professions and understand that professional expertise requires continuous learning, attention to detail, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility. This visit once again reminded us that meaningful connections between industry and education can begin with a single opportunity to experience a professional working environment firsthand. We sincerely thank the accompanying teachers and all those involved in organizing this visit, which provided Shing Sheng Fa Boatbuilding with a valuable opportunity to share the knowledge and dedication behind our work. Looking ahead, we hope to continue promoting educational exchanges that encourage more young people to discover Taiwan's boatbuilding industry. National Park No. 3 Inaugural Voyage Ceremony
15 Oct, 2026Building Vessels with Dedication, Supporting Those Who Protect Our Oceans Commissioning Ceremony of National Park No. 3 On October 7, National Park No. 3, a workboat built by Shing Sheng Fa Boatbuilding, was officially commissioned at Kaohsiung Harbor. The ceremony was attended by Wang Cheng-chi, Director-General of the National Park Service; Lin Shang-ching, Director of the Marine National Park Headquarters; Huang Jung-ta, Chairman of Shing Sheng Fa Shipbuilding; and representatives and distinguished guests from various organizations. Witnessed by all those present, this highly anticipated vessel officially began its mission to help protect Taiwan's marine environment. Watching National Park No. 3 progress from the initial design drawings through construction to its first voyage fills us with pride and emotion. Every stage of construction and every carefully crafted detail reflect the expertise, dedication, and commitment of our team. More importantly, they embody our deep concern for the personnel serving on the front lines. We understand that the quality of a vessel directly affects the successful execution of maritime missions and, above all, the safe return of everyone on board. Dongsha Atoll and the South Penghu Marine National Park are home to precious coral reefs, seagrass beds, and abundant marine life. Behind these remarkable natural environments are dedicated personnel who have worked tirelessly for years, facing intense sunshine, strong winds, and challenging sea conditions while carrying out resource patrols, ecological monitoring, research support, and environmental education. Their unwavering commitment deserves the support of a reliable vessel. The newly delivered National Park No. 3 is a 20-ton-class workboat designed to provide improved seakeeping performance and navigational stability. These enhancements will offer marine conservation patrol personnel a safer and more stable working environment while strengthening conservation and patrol capabilities across Taiwan's two marine national parks. For Shing Sheng Fa Boatbuilding, the true meaning of shipbuilding lies in transforming craftsmanship and responsibility into dependable support at sea. As the Marine National Park Headquarters celebrates its 19th anniversary, we extend our sincere appreciation for its trust and confidence in our company. We are equally grateful to all the partners involved in the design, construction, and coordination of this project. Through our collective efforts, we have created a reliable platform that will contribute to the protection of Taiwan's marine environment. The opportunity to apply our shipbuilding expertise to marine conservation is both a privilege and a responsibility that we deeply value. The delivery of a vessel marks an important milestone in the shipbuilding process, but it also represents the beginning of a new mission of protection. We sincerely hope that National Park No. 3 will accompany frontline personnel on every voyage, providing greater confidence and peace of mind as they carry out their duties. National Park No. 3 Launching Ceremony
03 Jul, 2026The small workboat commissioned by the Marine National Park Headquarters, National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior, was successfully completed and launched in July 2026. National Park No. 3 was purpose-built for marine conservation and ecological monitoring missions. Its primary role is to support marine ecosystem protection, resource surveys, and patrol operations in the waters surrounding Dongsha Atoll and the South Penghu Marine National Park. Through long-term and systematic marine patrols, ecological monitoring, and scientific investigations, the vessel collects valuable data on the marine environment and biological resources. These data provide an important foundation for Taiwan's marine conservation policies, marine resource management, and academic research.
