National Park No. 3 was purpose-built for marine conservation and ecological monitoring missions. Its primary role is to support marine ecosystem protection, resource surveys, and patrol operations in the waters surrounding Dongsha Atoll and the South Penghu Marine National Park. Through long-term and systematic marine patrols, ecological monitoring, and scientific investigations, the vessel collects valuable data on the marine environment and biological resources. These data provide an important foundation for Taiwan's marine conservation policies, marine resource management, and academic research.
